Day #47:Some Quotations That Started Me Thinking About Inspiration

When I started thinking about inspiration and writing a blog for a thousand days about it, several quotations made a special impression:

“Do one thing everyday that scares you.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt (This one I try to keep to everyday).

“The unexamined life is not worth living.” ― Socrates

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” ― Maya Angelou

You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That’s the only thing you should be trying to control.” ― Elizabeth Gilbert, Eat, Pray, Love

Whether you think you can, or you can’t, you’re right.- Henry Ford

“You can’t wait for inspiration. You have to go after it with a club.” ― Jack London

“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt

“Always remember, your focus determines your reality.” ― George Lucas (Very true)

“You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.” ― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations( One of my favourite historical personalities)

I love reading quotes. They are concise, succinct  and they convey strong messages that help us get through life. I have decided to dedicate my wednesday posts to some of the most inspiring quotes I find during the week. Watch out!

How about you? Do you have a favorite quote, one that has shaped your thinking?
