Day #420:Bill Gates’ Summer Reading List 2014

Last summer 2013 I wrote about Bill Gates summer reading vs. The Worlds and it garnered a lot of attention. One of the things that inspires me is trying to figure out what people I look up to do with their time and what they are reading. I mean, who would want to know what the richest man in the world is reading.

This year’s summer recommendations from Bill Gates is a list of 6 good books. You might find one or two of them interesting and want to read them.

Here is a short video with the book recommendations.

You can read further notes on the books from Gates’ blog.

1.Business Adventures, by John Brooks.

2.Stress Test, by Timothy F. Geithner

3.The Bully Pulpit: Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and the Golden Age of Journalism, by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

4.The Rosie Project: A Novel, by Graeme Simsion.

5.The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, by Elizabeth Kolbert

6.Reinventing American Health Care: How the Affordable Care Act Will Improve Our Terribly Complex, Blatantly Unjust, Outrageously Expensive, Grossly Inefficient, Error Prone System, by Ezekiel J. Emanuel.

Granted, these books may not appeal to everyone given its bias towards an American audience. However, I am sure you will find one or two interesting. Personally, I am looking forward to reading Business Adventures, by John Brooks. and The Rosie Project: A Novel, by Graeme Simsion.

Let me know which ones interest you.
