Day #465: The Gratitude Exercise

This morning I woke up reading about an exercise for gratitude and I immediately set myself to do it and see if it really works. The instructions goes thus:

1) Wake up in the morning and think of 3 things that you are grateful for and write them down.
2) Before you go to bed, think of 3 things you are grateful for and write them down.

Do this for 7 days in a row and you will feel at least 10% happier.

I thought this was really simple and decided to see if it was possible to extend it further. I decided to write between 3-5 minutes, fifty things I am grateful for.  Can you do this? Can you think of fifty things you are grateful for?

It is simple, but the experience is profound. I encourage you to do it.It will take only 5 minutes:

The key is to write fast Don’t think. Write fast. Don’t write what you think you are supposed to be grateful for. Write anything large or small that you are grateful for.
